CONDITIONS OF USE

Welcome to Academic and General Bookshop's website. Academic and General provide their services to you subject to these conditions. If you visit or shop at Academic and General, you accept these conditions. Please read them carefully. In addition, when you use any current or future Academic and General service or visit or purchase from any business affiliated with us, whether or not included in the Academic and General Web site, you also will be subject to the guidelines and conditions applicable to such service or business. If these conditions are inconsistent with such guidelines and conditions, such guidelines and conditions will control.

RETURNS

•  Prior approval by contacting Academic & General must be given before returns are despatched. Goods sold on a firm sale basis cannot be returned.

•  Good purchased for the new school year are eligible to be returned up until Friday, 16th February 2007. Good purchased after this date must be returned within 1 week of sale (or of receipt if home delivered).

•  Goods to be returned must be accompanied by a receipt.

•  Goods returned will be given store credit, or cash, or cheque at Academic & General's discretion.

•  Goods can only be accepted for return if they are in as new saleable condition.

•  To be eligible for return (unless faulty) software must be contained in its original sealed packaging.

•  Shortages or errors must be notified to Academic & General within 7 days of receipt of the goods.

•  Where there is error on our part we will pay the cost of the return freight.

PRICING POLICY

•  All prices listed on this website were correct at time of publication but are subject to change without prior notice.

•  We endeavour to keep all prices up to date on this website.

•  Online booklist orders will be charged the price of the goods at date of invoice. Prices are only approximate on booklists and are subject to change without prior notice. 

Home Delivery

Please note that the delivery charge is payable per order, not per item.

Home Delivery Charge

$15.00 - Australia Post will deliver the parcel to your home, via Receipted Delivery.

You will be required to sign for delivery of your order. In the event you are not at home, Australia Post will leave a card advising you of collection details from the nearest Post Office.

Distance Education (DECV) Students 

Students studying through Distance Education Victoria (DECV) are charged postage based on the size and destination of their parcel as follows:

Small parcel (1 or 2 novels OR 1 textbook): $8.00

Victoria : $12.00

Interstate: $15.00

Overseas: See below

Delivery outside Australia

Delivery to any destination outside Australia depends on the weight of the parcel and the speed at which you want it delivered. We will contact you to determine a cost and seek your acceptance before proceeding. 

You may choose to have your parcel insured. Prices are available on request and vary according to the value of the goods to be insured and their destination.

You may choose to have your order sent by courier. Prices are available on request and vary according to weight and destination. 

How long will it take to receive my order?

Orders to be delivered within Australia , once packed, should be received within 3-5 days. International orders should be received within 1-6 weeks if sent by Air Mail, and within 6-12 weeks if sent by Surface Mail.

If you order multiple items and they are not all in stock, we will advise you of their anticipated arrival times, and seek your delivery instructions.

Multiple deliveries for the same order

At this time, if your order contains items that are in stock and ready to ship as well as items that are out of stock and must be back-ordered, we will send the back-ordered items to you free of an additional postage or freight charge. This applies to Australian destinations only.

For overseas orders we will ask you whether you wish to have the total order held or pay an additional freight charge when the back-ordered titles come in.
